tux.fan is an independent publication for Linux enthusiasts, sysadmins, and open-source tinkerers. We’ve been publishing hands-on guides, distro reviews, and tool roundups since 2024.

Editorial principles
- Hands-on, not hearsay. Every guide is written after we install, configure, and use the tool ourselves. We do not publish articles we have not personally verified.
- No paid placements. Coverage decisions are made by the editorial team. We do not accept payment in exchange for reviews.
- Corrections are public. When we get something wrong, we update the article and note the correction.
- AI-assisted, human-vetted. We use AI tools to speed up research and drafting; final copy is reviewed and edited by a human before publication.
Who runs tux.fan
tux.fan is maintained by a small team of Linux enthusiasts based across Asia and Europe. We keep the editorial identity intentionally lean: the byline on each article reflects who actually wrote and tested it.
How we stay independent
We run on a mix of self-funded operations, optional reader support, and contextual advertising. Display ads, when enabled, are clearly labeled and never influence our editorial coverage. Our Privacy Policy explains the data we collect.
